- 2007: Doctorate from the Institute for Music Therapy at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg.
- 1994–1996: Graduate studies in Psychopathology in Children and Youths at the University of Zurich
- 1981–1986: Music therapist at a child and youth psychiatric centre
