Applicants will be admitted to the MAS programme in Clinical Music Therapy under the following conditions:
- A degree from a university or university of applied sciences* in a discipline such as music, psychology, medicine/nursing science, special education, education/social education, social work, theology or special therapies (e.g. speech therapy, occupational therapy, psychomotor therapy, physiotherapy)
- Successful completion of the Music Therapy degree programme at ZHdK: all introductory modules and at least 90% of the advanced modules, including all assessments of the Music modules, theory of music therapy, psychology and professional practice, or successful completion of another equivalent music therapy qualification
- The opportunity to undertake at least 120 hours of independent music therapy work during the course (internship or own position)
- 50 hours of individual teaching therapy or the readiness to complete the missing hours.
* In exceptional cases, applicants who do not hold a university degree but can provide evidence that they meet the admissions requirements for the MAS programme may be allowed into the course by special admission (“sur dossier”). In such cases, the Head of Programme reviews the decisive factors that will determine an applicant’s success on the course.
