    Eligibility and admission requirements

    This CAS is aimed at qualified musicians.
    The requirements for admission to the programme are as follows:

    • Successful completion of a university degree in music or an equivalent qualification
    • Previous professional experience
    • Positive outcome to the admission interview/assessment

    Special admission (“sur dossier”) is also possible in justified cases. The lecturer teaching the major, the Head of Programme as well as the Head of Continuing Education Music decide on admission.


    Transfers and admissions

    • Continuation of studies

      If a student intends to undertake further study after completing an initial CAS Jazz and Pop Performance, they undergo a transfer interview with the Head of Continuing Education Music in mid-May or at the beginning of December to clarify their further study perspectives and core subjects. Further study is possible with the consent of the lecturer teaching the major.

      If a student intends to undertake further study after completing a second “CAS Jazz and Pop Performance”, they must complete a 20–30 minute internal transfer performance in mid-May or at the beginning of December.
      The examination jury consists of the Head of Continuing Education Music as well as the lecturer teaching the major. 

    • Admission to the DAS

      Admission to the "Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) in Music Practice" is usually decided by an admission audition of 15 to 20 minutes in front of the main subject lecturer, the Director of Studies and the Head of Continuing Education in Music. It takes place in mid-May or mid-November.

    • Admission to the MAS

      Admission to the "Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Music Practice" is usually decided by an admission audition of 20 to 30 minutes in front of the main subject lecturer, the Director of Studies and the Head of Continuing Education in Music. It takes place in mid-May or mid-November.
