The focus is on one-to-one coaching and analysing the individual’s teaching practice. Videos and/or classroom visits help build refined and objective observations, while reflecting on these observations helps further develop and fine-tune the individual’s teaching style to make it engaging, explorative and flexible.
Target audience
The course is aimed at those involved in instrumental and vocal teaching (both individual and group tuition), as well as those teaching music and movement, who would like to reflect on their teaching style and develop it further.

- Planning and spontaneity in teaching
- Different approaches/methods of lesson design in challenging situations
- Promoting independence and shared responsibility among students in the classroom
- Recognizing students' prerequisites and designing lessons in line with developmental logic
- Practice coaching with your own students
- Verbal and nonverbal communication in teaching
- Your own energy use as a teacher
Dates
The module includes five hours of one-to-one coaching and some independent work. Students may start at any time. Dates are agreed with the mentor.
