    Eligibility and admission requirements

    The โ€œCAS Compositionโ€ is aimed at graduate musicians.
    The requirements for admission to the programme are as follows:

    • Successful completion of a university degree in music or an equivalent qualification 
    • Subject-specific prior experience
    • Positive outcome to the admission interview/assessment 

    Special admission (โ€œsur dossierโ€) is also possible in justified cases. The core subject lecturer and the Head of Continuing Education Music decide on admission.

    Transfers and admissions

    • Further CAS

      If a student intends to undertake further study after completing an initial CAS, they undergo a transfer interview with the Head Head of Programme and Head of Continuing Education Music in mid-May or mid-January to clarify their study perspectives and core subjects. With a positive outcome and the agreement of the lecturer teaching the major, further study in the โ€œCAS Compositionโ€ is possible. 

    • Admission to the DAS or MAS Diploma

      In the case of an intention to pursue a DAS or MAS degree (Diploma of Advanced Studies) or MAS degree (Master of Advanced Studies), an admissions interview with the head of programme and the head of continuing education in music will take place in mid-May or early December.

      The following documents must be submitted:

      • A dossier of three recent works (compositions, performances, sound installations) with a brief critical assessment
      • A letter of motivation in relation to the DAS or MAS degree
      • An exposรฉ of the planned final project (max. 1 page)

      Admission to the DAS or MAS module will be decided on the basis of the submitted documents and the interview.
