    Eligibility and admission requirements

    • Transfers and admissions

    The “CAS Composing Arranging/Producing” is designed for qualified musicians.
    The requirements for admission to the programme are as follows:

    • Successful completion of a university degree in music or an equivalent qualification 
    • Subject-specific prior experience
    • Positive outcome to the admission interview/assessment 

    Special admission (“sur dossier”) is also possible in justified cases. The lecturer teaching the major and the Head of Continuing Education Music decide on admission. 

    Transfers and admissions

    • Continuation of studies

      If you intend to undertake further study in the form of a second “CAS in Composing-Arranging/Producing”, you will attend a transfer interview with the Head of Continuing Education Music in mid-May or at the beginning of December to clarify your further study prospects and core subjects. It is possible to continue studying with the consent of the lecturer.

    • Transfer to the CAS Composing-Arranging/Producing (Intermediate) or (Advanced)

      If you intend to transfer into the “CAS in Composing-Arranging/Producing (Intermediate), you will attend an aptitude test and a transfer interview with the Head of Programme and Head of Continuing Education Music to clarify your study prospects and core subjects at the end of the second semester. The aptitude test consists of presenting a dossier in the form of a web page or a download link. A transfer is possible with the consent of the Head of Programme and the Head of Continuing Education Music.

    • Admission to a DAS or MAS degree

      Admission to the DAS or MAS in Music Creation/Composing-Arranging/Producing is decided by the Head of Programme and the Head of Continuing Education Music and usually by passing a relevant admissions and dossier examination.

      Applicants must provide the following documents:

      • A dossier in the form of a web page (list of work with at least two or four pieces of work produced during the applicant’s studies from the field of composing-arranging/producing) 
      • A substantial, independent project from the field of composing-arranging/producing (MAS)
      • A covering letter explaining why you wish to take the DAS/MAS degree
      • Description of the DAS/MAS final project (max. 1 page)

      Admission to the DAS or MAS module will be decided on the basis of the documents submitted and the interview.
