    Eligibility and admission requirements

    Target audience

    The CAS Type & Brand is aimed at designers who are active in branding or design agencies or also on the corporate side in the design area, as well as at freelance designers for whom type, typography and/or brand design are important fields of activity for their work. It is also suitable for interested parties with professional design experience who would like to establish themselves the branding field or undertake further studies in Type Design.

    The target audience includes in particular:

    • Visual designers who would like to specialize in the Type Design area in the context of branding.
    • Designers and creative directors who would like to undertake further study in the area of brand design and brand development with particular emphasis on type and typography.
    • Designers who would like to extend their work in the context of branding with valuable skills in the area of Type Design and Use.
    • Designers with experience in Type Design who would like to learn about the current aspects of brand design and specialize in the use and the design of corporate fonts.

    Admission requirements

    Participants are required to have a nationally recognized degree from a university of applied sciences, university or technical university and a as well as in general three years of professional experience in a related design discipline, or have successfully completed the CAS Fundamentals of Typography. Interested candidates who do not have an appropriate degree may be admitted if they can provide detailed evidence of their further education and training and professional experience, and this is deemed equivalent. 

    The languages of instruction are German and English. Good oral language skills are required. A laptop and a certain routine in dealing with digital media are also required.

    Applicants submit a covering letter as well as a detailed portfolio with their application.

    Quereinsteigende aus verwandten Bereichen wie Marketing, Industriedesign, Architektur, Szenografie u. รค. wird vorab der Besuch des CAS Fundamentals of Typography empfohlen. Diese Weiterbildung vermittelt die Grundlagen grafischer Gestaltung.
