    More: CAS Motion Design

    Academic objective

Nowadays, designers face the challenge of having to convey content not only in a visually appealing way but also dynamically and across multiple media. This CAS aims to establish motion design as an independent design discipline and to position it as an integral component in existing design processes. Participants are empowered to apply movement as a conscious design element and use animation as a strategic communication tool – whether it is in the context of branding, conveying information, prototyping or artistic work.

      Skills taught:

      • View motion design as an independent discipline and integrate it into your existing design practice
      • Work with common design and animation software, plug-ins and effects and learn the technical basics of animation and production processes
      • Understand timing, movement and acceleration (kinetics) and use them specifically for design purposes
      • Understand the connection between sound and movement and specifically employ sound as a design element
      • Determine the requirements and possible uses of animation in different media and communication contexts
      • Develop your own design language in the area of motion design and use movement as a conscious design element
      • Talk about animation and movement design with an adequate specialist vocabulary and present concepts convincingly
