    Module 1

    Introduction and basic principles

    Introduction to the programme, get to know all participants. Learn the central principles of Design Thinking and solve some initial problems. Introduction to individual project work.

    Module 2

    Design Thinking for business innovation

    Class of 2025/26 – Thurs–Sat, 25.–27.9.2025

    Insight into the ways Design Thinking can be used in a business context. The interplay between product, service and UX (user experience) design. Basic principles of design-oriented strategy, innovation and corporate development.

    Module 3

    Design Thinking for social innovation

    Class of 2025/26 – Thurs–Sat, 23.­–25.10.2025

    Possible applications for Design Thinking in social contexts. Focus on user research, participative strategies and co-creation. The interplay between social innovation and entrepreneurial thinking.

    Module 4

    Processes, methods, tools

    Class of 2025/26 – Thurs–Sat, 13.–15.11.2025

    Experiment with selected methods for Design Thinking. Focus on iterative process configuration, design synthesis, prototyping and storytelling. Become familiar with useful tools.

    Module 5

    Design Thinking Challenge

    Class of 2025/26 – Thurs–Sat, 4.–6.12.2025

    Apply what has been learnt in the context of a broadly–based task. Address complex problems and develop innovative solutions in interdisciplinary teams. Present a project pitch to the customer and a specialist audience.

    Module 6

    Sharing and embedding

    Class of 2025/26 – Thurs–Sat, 8.–10.1.2026

    How to embed Design Thinking in different fields and contexts. Study successful applications and discuss the specific challenges of implementation.

    Module 7

    Project Presentation and Analysis

    Class of 2025/26 – Thurs–Sat, 29.–31.1.2026

    Project work is presented and exhibited as part of an open conference with guest speakers. Reflect on your personal learning experience and individual project work.
