CAS Design Thinking – mindset, models and methods for transformative projects in organisations and society

Design thinking is an attitude, an approach and a set of methods all at once. The approach offers guidance in dealing with complex business and social issues, acts as a driver of innovation and as a means of strategic development. The CAS opens up a practical learning space in which participants work on their own problems and apply design thinking in a concrete context.

    Structure

The programme teaches participants about key aspects of Design Thinking and equips them to embed these in existing processes and share them with other people. The CAS Design Thinking programme is completed over a period of six months and consists of seven teaching modules, each lasting three days. Participants have the chance to apply what they have learnt directly in a project of their own, and they have the support of a mentor in implementing their ideas.

    Target audience

The CAS Design Thinking programme is intended for people in any role or sector who specifically want to apply design-based thinking and behaviour to their work and establish it permanently in their workplace.

    • Designers and creative individuals who want to extend their strategic and methodological design skills
    • Specialists in different disciplines who want to focus more on aspects of design
    • Managers who want to encourage innovation and establish a creative corporate culture

    CAS with prospects

The CAS Design Thinking is part of the modular continuing education degree programme, the MAS Strategic Design. It consists of a total of six freely selectable CAS programmes. To successfully gain the MAS qualification (Master of Advanced Studies), three CAS programmes and the MAS degree module must be completed.
