CAS Design Leadership – Leadership skills for strategic designers and creative leaders

The CAS Design Leadership aims to deliver a dynamic understanding of organization and leadership, focusing on the changes in the working world in the light of the digital transformation. People are centre stage: a design-based approach, agile procedures and collaborative methods form the basis for tackling complex strategic challenges and organizational change processes. Participants on this unusual degree programme at the interface of Design Thinking and Leadership will develop their capacity to react as the situation demands and will enhance their personal leadership profile.

Structure

The CAS Design Leadership is completed over a period of five months. It consists of a total of seven teaching modules, each lasting three days. Participants study certain aspects of leadership of their choice in greater depth in an individual dissertation. Their results and experiences will feed into a joint Design Leadership publication.

Target audience

The CAS Design Leadership is intended for people in any role or sector who specifically want to enrich their leadership and responsibility competence with design-based approaches and methods and thereby further enhance their own profile.

  • Designers and creative individuals who are already in leadership roles and are seeking a better grounding and increased confidence
  • Project or team leaders in different sectors who want to introduce innovative approaches, methods and instruments into their management activities
  • Managers with a broad remit who see design as a key driver in changing corporate culture and want to acquire specific expertise in organizational transformation processes

CAS with prospects

The CAS Design Leadership is part of the modular continuing education degree programme, the MAS Strategic Design. This MAS consists of a total of six Certificates of Advanced Studies (CAS). Participants choose which programmes they want to attend and freely select the order. Over a period of three to six years, three CAS programmes and one MAS degree module can be completed in order to receive the MAS degree.
