Applying at ZHdK
BA / MA degree programmes
The Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes at ZHdK are structured according to the major-minor programme model: your major determines your area of specialization. You can then deepen your knowledge in this area or broaden it across disciplines by choosing one or two minors.
You apply for the major that forms the basis of your area of specialization. The requirements and procedures vary depending on the programme.
The binding requirements and deadlines are published in mid-November via the links listed on this page for each field/major.
Continuing Education
ZHdK offers CAS, DAS and MAS programmes, as well as other continuing education formats in the fields of design, music, theatre and education. You can find out when and how to enrol on the relevant pages:
Preparatory training
ZHdK’s preparatory courses provide thorough training for degree programmes in design, art, music, theatre or dance. You can find information on how to apply here:

Opening hours – Walk-in
During our opening hours, you can drop in without an appointment for an initial consultation or contact us by telephone:
– Tuesday: 12:00–3:00 pm
– Wednesday: 12:00–3:00 pm
– Thursday: 12:00–3:00 pm
Student Advice is located in Room 3.T07 in the ZHdK entrance hall, opposite the large staircase and next to the wooden benches.
Individual counselling sessions
A counselling session with us is free of charge, lasts 45 minutes and can take place online or in person at ZHdK.
