PEERS was a pre-PhD program of the Institute for the Performing Arts and Film (IPF) at Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). It supported emerging artistic researchers who were interested in pursuing a doctorate in the arts, primarily, though not exclusively, in the performing arts and film. Over a period of one and a half to two years, beginning each September, participants took part in collective research gatherings and benefited from one-on-one mentoring sessions. Immersed in a dynamic research environment, they developedtheir research proposals while orientating themselves within third-cycle research. To this end, PEERS fellows engaged with local and global partner institutions, became acquainted with the ZHdK infrastructure, and received tailored support in applying for artistic PhD programs.
