    Every semester, ZHdK's Department of Fine Arts presents a series of public talks with various guests from the contemporary art and culture sector. All talks are held in English. Admission is free and no registration is required.

      Fanny Hauser is a curator and since January 2025 Director of the Kunsthalle Zรผrich. Previously she worked as deputy director at the Ludwig Forum fรผr Internationale Kunst in Aachen. Before becoming a curatorial fellow of the Gebert Stiftung fรผr Kultur in Rapperswil together with Viktor Neumann from 2019 to 2021, she worked as a curatorial assistant for documenta 14 in Athens and Kassel. She studied art history and comparative literature in Vienna and Paris and worked as a lecturer at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna from 2021 to 2022.

        Nicola Genovese

        Nicola Genovese's artistic practice encompasses sculpture, video, performance and music and critically examines the aesthetics that shape masculinity and class identities in Western societies. As an Italian immigrant residing in Switzerland, Nicola Genovese frequently assumes the roles of the Fool, the Punk and the Pierrot in his performances and theatre pieces.
        After graduating from the ZHdK, Nicola Genovese studied for a PhD in Creative Work at Wits University in Johannesburg, South Africa. His work has recently been exhibited and performed at various venues in Zurich, Geneva, Locarno and the Wits Art Museum in Johannesburg. In 2024 he was awarded the work scholarship of the Canton of Zurich.

          Pauline Curnier Jardin

          Pauline Curnier Jardin is an artist working across installation, performance, film, and drawing. Her cinematic installations create unorthodox universes and tell stories, thus proposing alternative narratives. She is the winner of the 2019 German Preis der Nationalgalerie, the 2021 Villa Romana Prize in Firenze, and recipient of the 2019-2020 Villa Medici fellowship in Rome. Her work was last shown or commissioned in: Kiasma, Helsinki (2024), MACRO, Rome (2024), Centraal Museum, Utrecht (2023), Kunsthaus Pasquart, Bienne and Kunsthalle, Winterthur (2023), CRAC Occitanie, Sรจte (2022); FRAC Corsica (2022);  Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW), Berlin (2022); LIAF, Venice and Kabelvรฅg (2022).

            Mohamed Almusibli

            Since March 2024, Mohamed Almusibli has been the new Director and Chief Curator of Kunsthalle Basel. Almusibli previously served as co-founder and curator of the independently operated art space Cherish in Geneva. His curatorial work is characterized by a sensitive engagement with contemporary artistic positions. He has demonstrated a close connection to artists of our time, an innovative perspective on the use of new technologies, and a keen interest in bridging the local and international art scenes.
